JUBILANCE IN THE OLYMPIC BEIJING TORCH RELAY IN HOCHIMINH CITY

The Olympic Games Torch Relay started at the Hochiminh City Opera House and went through some central streets as Le Loi, Pasteur, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, Nguyen Van Troi etc… finished at the Military Zone 7 Stadium, where the official ceremony was preformed at 7:30 pm. 

Thousands of Hochiminh citizens were present at the Square of Hochiminh City Opera House and along the roads to witness the sacred flame of Olympic.

The participants in the Torch Relay of April 29th included Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan, Mrs. Nguyen Thu Ha – Deputy Chairwoman of Hochiminh City People’s Committee, Chief Organizing Committee of Torch Relay in Hochiminh City, Mr. Nguyen Danh Thai - Chairman of Vietnam Olympic Committee; some officials of 2008 Beijing Olympic Committee were present together with the representative of China Embassy in Vietnam. There were 60 torchbearers, including the leaders of Department of Gymnastics & sports, athletes and some typical businesspeople, singers.  

Security order has proved highly successful for the splendid performance of Torch Relay in Hochiminh City.
